Class Expectations

Class Expectations

Be present and on time! this includes returning from break.

Be prepared and try your best! Bring your notebook, pen or pencil and ready to work. Completion of all your work is necessary.

Be kind to others. You are not alone in this class! Working in the lab is mostly done in group settings. You are evaluated on your ability to work with others as well as individually.

Welcome Back!

It's that time of year again. Welcome to all new and returning students! I hope you all have had the opportunity to relax at some point during our very hot summer!

As a refresher, here at thedish-mrscourtney.blogspot.com, you will find course outlines, test reviews, useful and useless trivia and fun facts, stuff we'll be doing in class and some cool (or geeky) links to various food stuff.

Please check back here on a regular basis to see what's happening in and out of class!

Fun Facts and Trivia will change only when students answer it correctly. To answer it, simply come to class on time (or a bit early) to share the answer with me (Mrs. C) There is usually a limit as to how many people I will allow to recieve a prize, so it's best to arrive as soon as you can in order to get a prize.

What are the prizes? You'll have to answer a triva question to find out!

I look forward to seeing you in class!

What to bring to class:
  • Pen or pencil
  • Notebook, binder or something similar to hold all your work. There could be a surprise open book test!
  • bottled water, flavored/vitamin water, white/chocolate milk, and iced tea.
  • Positive attitude

What Not to bring:
  • Pop
  • Turn off your phone, put away your ipod or other techy devices while in the Foods Lab! There are many ways they can get ruined...along with your previleges! You may use your phone in the classroom on break time only! If using it in the hall, you may find yourself without a phone for the rest of the day... or longer.
